Bankers and Princes Trust
23 March 2005

I was particularly struck by the drive and enthusiasm of the Princes Trust people. Their self motivation and personal belief and values have enabled them to overcome many difficulties and to tackle ongoing challenges to continue to build successful and fulfilling lives. It made me think carefully about my own values system.

When faced with a problem to solve, the Bankers and the Princes Trust guys often took different approaches: We bankers tended to revert to learned behaviours / processes. Whereas the Princes Trust team tended to act on raw skill and intuition. The lesson from me was that what was required for a successful outcome was a mix of both - we could both definitely learn from each other!

The whole environment at Columba was just superb. A true culture of support and care for people's well being and personal development. This applied in respect of all of the people involved, to the design and atmosphere of the Columba Centre, and even extending to the fantastic location on Skye. Everything came together to create the whole experience
