| Columba 1400 wins the Bank of Scotland Corporate/Sunday Times Social Entrepreneur of the Year Award 2009. | |
| 29 June 2009 At an Awards Ceremony Dinner at Christ Church in Spitalfields, London, on Thursday 25 June 2009, Columba 1400 was pronounced winner of the Upper Tier Category of the “Bank of Scotland Corporate Social Entrepreneur of the Year 2009.” The competition, supported by The Sunday Times and sponsored by the Bank of Scotland, was launched to encourage social entrepreneurship and Columba 1400 secured its place as one of only three finalists in this category from an initial pool of 2,000 applicants. On accepting the Award on behalf of Columba 1400 Anne Wexelstein who, with Stuart Mitchell and Stevie Siegerson, made the final presentation to the judging panel, said “I am ecstatic and over the moon. The funding will allow for transformational growth of the organisation.” In expressing his delight, Columba 1400’s Founder and Chairman, Norman Drummond said: "We are very grateful to Bank of Scotland and The Sunday Times and are ever mindful of the trust and confidence which has been placed in us." | |
