At an Awards Ceremony Dinner at Christ Church in Spitalfields, London, on Thursday 25 June 2009, Columba 1400 was pronounced winner of the Upper Tier Category of the “Bank of Scotland Corporate Social Entrepreneur of the Year 2009.”

The competition, supported by The Sunday Times and sponsored by the Bank of Scotland, was launched to encourage social entrepreneurship and Columba 1400 secured its place as one of only three finalists in this category from an initial pool of 2,000 applicants.

On accepting the Award on behalf of Columba 1400 Anne Wexelstein who, with Stuart Mitchell and Stevie Siegerson, made the final presentation to the judging panel, said “I am ecstatic and over the moon.  The funding will allow for transformational growth of the organisation.”

In expressing his delight, Columba 1400’s Founder and Chairman, Norman Drummond said:
"Columba 1400 has made remarkable strides in the last 10 years and this further confirmation of our work will enable us to deliver more Leadership Academies and reach more people from tough realities from our second centre in Loch Lomond due to open early 2010.
