Stephen Elliot

Stephen joined the Royal Navy at the age of 16 and served for 6 years prior to joining Lothian & Borders Police. He served in various specialist roles across a 27 year police career including Strategic Partnerships Chief Inspector and Local Area Commander. Prior to retirement from the service in December 2015 Stephen was the National lead for Community Engagement as part of Police Scotland’s Specialist Crime Division.

In January 2016 Stephen was appointed Head of Events & Liaison with Legion Scotland and successfully planned and delivered many high level events and contributed positively to WW100 Scotland’s commemorations including The Battle of Arras in April 2017, Scotland’s Commemorative Service for the Centenary of the First Armistice at Glasgow Cathedral in November 2018 and the Iolaire tragedy on 1 January 2019.

Having been involved in youth work throughout his life Stephen feels honoured to be joining the Columba 1400 team. Stephen lives in West Lothian with his wife Karen and is a proud father and grandfather.
