“I knew the effect was going to be good, but never knew it would be superb.”

- Principal describing the impact of the Ambassadors' Academy on her school

Charlotte McClintock

Charlotte McClntock

Development Co-ordinator

Charlotte joined the Columba 1400 Team in December 2005, relatively fresh off the plane from Australia.  Her role within the organisation focusses around providing IT and administrational support, along with developing and maintaining the Columba website and data management system.

Charlotte was born in London but emigrated to Australia at the age of 18 months with her parents and two brothers.  She learned Classical violin from the age of 4, but discovered at university that Guinness goes better with Irish folk music.  She graduated from Melbourne University in 2003 with degrees in economics and politics, but in an attempt to avoid a bog-standard finance graduate job, she ran away to the remote North West Chinese desert to teach English to kindergarten children for a year.

She returned to Australia in 2004, but soon found her feet beginning once again to itch, so when the opportunity arose to tour Scotland and the UK with a celtic electronica band, she could hardly turn it down.  She fell deeply in love with Edinburgh from the moment she saw it, and moved there in September 2005.

She enjoys the way the role has allowed her to extend her working knowledge of website management and database design (in other words expressing her inner geek!), and hopes to help develop the way Columban Graduates connect with each other using the internet.

Her hobbies include playing fiddle with various musical ventures, tinkering with her computer, and knitting (seriously!)

Charlotte is based out of Columba's Edinburgh office.
