Columba 1400: changing young people’s lives and their communities
Columba 1400 is an award winning social enterprise and charity.
Our purpose is simple: to help young people realise that they already have the inner greatness and confidence to transform their own lives and those around them.
Our inspirational and dynamic programmes are at the heart of everything Columba 1400 does.
Young people, their parents or carers, teachers, support workers and other key figures from across the UK come together at our centres on Skye and on the banks of Loch Lomond.
Our residential programmes, followed by ongoing support, are designed to give young people the strength and courage to find their own unique voice and purpose – and to use that voice to inspire families and communities on return.
For the more than 4000 young people and adults who have participated in our programmes since 2000, Columba 1400 has provided a turning point in their lives.
We are in the second year of a five year Big Lottery Fund project 'Young People's Leadership: Sustaining and Extending Personal and Community Impact'.
