Columba 1400: Community & International Leadership Centres

Columba 1400 has totally changed me, and the way things are in my life!! It is just amazing what all you wonderful people do!
- Graduate of the Young People's Leadership Academy Columba needs your support!
Columba 1400 is hugely dependent on donations to enable our vital work to make a real lasting change to so many lives across Scotland. The majority of our funding is allocated directly to specific programmes.
To ensure what we offer is of the highest quality for each participant who crosses our threshold; we need to keep our equipment in good working order. Replacing and upgrading the equipment used throughout during our residential programmes is a continuing concern.  We want our participants to feel respected by the environment that we provide for them.
In particular, we need to upgrade our beds as these are now eight years old and have been used by some 3,500 graduates!
You will find our priority list of needs for 2009 below. By making a gift you will be helping to enhance the remarkable experience offered by Columba 1400.
Please contact Rhona Drummond or call 0131 557 9320 for further details. Columba 1400 – things we really need

messages from our graduates
It's been around 2 years since we came up from Castlemilk High/St Margaret Mary's and I still use my leadership skills every day. I think going to the academy helped me realise a lot things about myself & others. It showed them that I have good potential & qualities that I should use everyday & it also helped me gain more confidence.
Hiya guys! All is well I am at college doing an HNC in counselling and I’m going to deliver my own training.  I can’t thank you enough.  I miss all them early mornings and the wonderful cooks and Guy hope you’re good, Laura hope you’re good miss your laugh, Stevie miss your knowledge you’re a man of great wisdom.
Seems like an age ago that I was on Skye, although I still have many happy memories of my week there. It will never be forgotten!!!!
The group is very much still active, we have meetings etc in both schools and are now planning our third presentation to another school from our area which intends to go up to Skye. We are also planning to create our own academy for young people in our own area. If any of your team has any suggestions don't hesitate to email us. It’s been so long since we were in Skye and I just want to say thanks for all of the memories and skills that I have acquired thanks to Columba 1400.
